Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten
Ages 4.5 years – 6.5 years-old
St. Matthew's Transitional/Kindergarten Program encompasses the traditional five areas of work while preparing students to mainstream into surrounding school systems. Fundamentals in all subject areas shape growing a child's independent view of educating themselves. Our Transitional/Kindergarten Program prepares a student to set and meet goals while developing the self-discipline and leadership necessary to be self-directed learners. Students demonstrate the skills of language arts development through the introduction of readers, independent writing, and more implicit phonetic instruction. Shifting to an emphasis on reading and writing subject matter strengthens the bridge to the next developmental milestone.
